Read them. Or Don't.

To whom it may concern -

A letter to the young individual who has found themselves working their life away in something they have absolutely no passion for.  To the responsible person who is out to prove something.

Constantly surrounded by those who are 10-15 years your senior.  You might have the brightest of ideas.  You might be 10x more efficient.  You might be sick of explaining simple word processing and other computer related processes.

It’s a double edged sword if I ever saw one.  Build up your confidence to go out into the world.  Be profitable.  Work Hard.  Sound professional on the phone.  However, the minute you think you’ve learned something, is the minute you’ve stepped to far.  Stay in the background.  Keep the stove on a nice slow burn.  Arrogance comes in many flavors, all of which can be tempting based on circumstance.

Be prepared to be excluded because you don’t play golf or enjoy patronizing such “fine” establishments as hooters and/or etc…

When you don’t want to pick up the phone for the 200th time that day - do it.  Don’t get distracted.  Don’t develop expectations or act like your deserve what you have.  Don’t lay claim to anything.  Don’t brag.  Try not to make people look bad.  Don’t compare how much work you do or how much you bill out annually with your coworkers.

Wake Up.  Drive to work.  Work hard to provide for you family.  Drive home.  Collect your paycheck at the end of the month.  Try to stay out of debt.  Don’t think about days when you had less responsibility on your shoulders.  Don’t let the sting of bad memories cloud your judgement.

Nobody likes you.  Get used to it.
